Founder and President Jamie Newman Graduated from Colonial High
School in 1999, but his name still dots Central Florida record books. He
remains near the Top of the list for career and season marks in three
pointers made, assists and steals in only three seasons playing in
Central Florida. He also holds the all time records at Colonial High in
three pointers made in a half (6), three pointers made in a game (9),
three pointers made for a season (84), three pointers in a career(186),
and assists in a career (594). He also remains near the top of several
other statistical categories.
The feisty guard became the ultimate gym rat and floor leader, which
led to him becoming one of most highly sought after point guards in the
nation. Jamie from Salem, Massachusetts first hit the hoops media as a
6th grader when he was the starting point guard on the nationally
ranked 8th grade squad playing in the same back court with Sean
Connolly. (Connolly later became captain of the Ohio State Buckeyes).
As a Freshmen at Highly acclaimed and Nationally ranked Salem High
School Jamie played varsity and became one of the Northeasts most
brightest stars being named as one of the top point guards in his class.
As a Sophomore Jamie took his skills to Florida (Colonial High) where
letters and the recruiters kept following Coaches like Jay Wright, Paul
Hewitt, John Belin while all those coaches now are at D1 major
programs (Villanova, Georgia Tech, Michigan)they were recruiting him
from where they started at little D1 schools (Hofstra, Siena,
Richmond). After making visits all around the country Jamie Chose The
College of Western Maryland. Shortly after excepting a grant in aid he
chose to follow his High School sweetheart Vivian to Augusta, Georgia
and attend Augusta Tech. Vivian also was a great ball player as well she
was the starting point guard for University High (Orlando, FL) Ironically
University High and Colonial High are are arch rivals. The two got
married in 2000 and Currently have two children Julian and Jaden.
Jamie has always been a coach on and off the court and that has
propelled him to be one of the hottest and youngest basketball minded
Coaches and Trainers today . While running and Instructing camps from
the early age of 13, In 2001 Jamie became the Boys assistant head
coach at University High under former coach Matt Lutz, he later
became Head Coach of the Colonial High Freshmen and Assistant
Coach at Colonial High. Now Jamie has taking all his expertize in
basketball and Created Central Florida Hoops your home for all your
basketball needs . Despite his successes, the local phenom has never
forsaken his roots. Orlando has always been home for Jamie, along with
hosting annual basketball camps, clinics, tournaments and leagues for
all ages, Jamie today gives his time and money to so many needy
family’s and children around Central Florida. He also makes sure his
company gives back as much as it gets to his community.

| Vice President: Vivian Newman |
Vice President Vivian Newman is the Wife of President/ Founder Jamie
Newman. Vivian is the brains and beauty of Central Florida Hoops; but
don't let all her beauty fool you back in the late 90's she was one of the
fiestyest guards in Central Florida while being the starting Point Guard
at University High all three years she attended.
Vivian got all her fiestyness growing up with her two older brothers in
Lorain, Ohio. She stared her High School Basketball carrer at Admiral
King High in Lorain, Ohio she started JV as a Freshmen and later moved
to Florida where she became the starting point guard at University
High. Vivian graduated in 1998 and after going to school for nurseing
she joined the United States Navy in 1999. Vivian continued her
basketball carrer by playing in the womans leagues on Military Bases all
over the country. Vivian has taking all of her basketball, training, and
coaching experenice and has put it to use by coaching, training, and
mentoring all of our student- athletes especially the female athletes.
She has become a tremundous role model in the community and all the
female Central Florida Hoops players look up to her as a mother, sister,
and best friend.
Currently Vivian still works for the United States Goverment but always
finds time to attend to her VP duites for CFH. Vivian is responsible for
new ideas, female student- athlete develpment off and on the court,
conducting board meetings, over sees consessin and retail sales as well
as a number of other duties. But her Goverment Job and CFH Duties
come 2nd and 3rd to taking care of her family. Vivan married Jamie
Newman (President/Founder Central Florida Hoops) in Augusta Georgia
in 2000 and are happily married with two children Julian and Jaden.
Basketball as you see is a rich tradition in the Newman house hold and it
is just not a hobby or recreational sport it is a way a of life to The
Newman Family and truely live by CFH motto “We walk by faith and Not
by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
